Hairy Pennywort 'Mini' [Extremely Rare] (UNIQUE Carpet Mat)
This is a new variety of Hydrocotyle known as Hydrocotyle Hirta. Hairy Pennywort ‘Mini’ is a cousin to Hydrocotyle ‘Japan’, but rather than growing bushes this plant grows a thick, dense mat across the bottom of your tank.
This plant has much smaller leaves than other Hydrocotyle species, and the leaves are almost perfectly round with slightly fuzzy vines.
This plant is brand new to the hobby and, like our Creeping Crassula, isn’t available anywhere else!
This produce will include a small clump of Hairy Pennywort ‘Mini’. Each portion will be about a tablespoon’s worth, which will be enough to start a healthy plant in your tank.
MID TECH PLANT - I haven’t tested this plant in low tech, but almost all Hydrocotyles grow great in any tanks- if you try it please let us know! Ours are grown in high tech with CO2, and without it it’ll grow bushier and less like a carpet/mat.
Note: This plant has not been identified by a university, I identified it the best I could and named it with an unofficial name. I make no guarantee that this plant is a certain species because it has not been officially identified. It is, however, unquestionably different in leaf structure, color, and growth pattern compared to any other hydrocotyle plants in the known aquarium trade.
